BossesChrono Odyssey has field bosses and world bosses in the open world, Region Bosses for several parties, and one-on-one Chrono Gate bosses; the bosses Chrono Studio itself has named are the Thousandfold Piercer, the Optio Brute and the Ravenous Bog. No full boss list has been published, as of Oct 21, 2026. -
Character CreationChrono Odyssey's character creator offers "gender, body types, facial features, hairstyles, makeup, scars, and much more" for one playable species, humans, and no class is gender-locked. After players built deliberately grotesque characters in the June 2025 beta, Chrono Studio promised "meaningful limitations" for the next test.
-
Chrono GatesChrono Gates are Chrono Odyssey's one-on-one boss fights against Void Apostles. The first, the Thousandfold Piercer, came at about level 3 in the June 2025 closed beta and is moving to about level 5, where players can bring an optional NPC Supporter (Chrono Studio, Jul 30, 2025 and May 7, 2026).
-
ChronotectorThe Chronotector is Chrono Odyssey's time device, "an artifact which allows players to stop time around monsters or rewind a character's time." It also reveals traces of the past, solves puzzles, opens hidden rewards and summons defeated bosses as specters; in the June 2025 closed beta it had five abilities.
-
CombatChrono Odyssey uses action combat, not tab targeting: you aim your own attacks, dodge, block and parry on a stamina bar, lock on to targets, swap between two weapons mid-fight and use the time-bending Chronotector. Kakao Games says it "draws inspiration from the fluid action found in soulslike games," and the developers have reworked it since the June 2025 closed beta. -
Crafting and GatheringChrono Odyssey's life skills are harvesting, logging, mining and skinning, plus fishing, processing, cooking and the crafting of equipment and consumables, and they give experience, so a character can reach max level without fighting. Gear can come from crafting or drops, with neither meant to win, and players trade through an auction house, not hand to hand. -
Dungeons and RaidsChrono Odyssey splits its instanced content into solo Chrono Gates, Labyrinths and Trials and party Expeditions and Time Portals; for the endgame, executive producer Yun Sang-tae has described 10-player raids and five-player dungeons (Jun 9, 2025). None has a release date, as of Oct 21, 2026. -
Exploration and TraversalChrono Odyssey is a seamless open world with no loading screens, built for "unrestricted exploration of any terrain": you climb, ride mounts, slow your fall and glide with the Chronotector, and step into Setera's past through Time Portals. Its map has a compass instead of a minimap, and the launch world is to be about four times the size of the June 2025 beta's. -
Gear and EnhancementIn Chrono Odyssey you get gear from drops or crafting "with no method having a distinct advantage," and enhancing it never breaks or downgrades an item. Endgame gearing is planned to be horizontal, monsters drop Monster Equipment in their own likeness, a wardrobe will let you keep any look, and the shop is to sell cosmetics only. -
Matrix SystemThe Matrix is Chrono Odyssey's skill tree, "a node-based progression system that moves away from linear paths," with four progression paths for each weapon (twelve per class) that change a weapon's main skills and combat patterns. It was announced after the June 2025 closed beta and has not been playable yet.
-
Performance and OptimizationChrono Odyssey's June 2025 closed beta ran poorly for many players, with frame drops, stutter and crashes "even on higher-end PCs". Chrono Studio has since cut shader calls per frame by about 40% and average memory use by about 20% (Dec 2025) and, in Sep 2026, began benchmarking the game with Quasar Zone to fix its PC performance and specs.
-
PvPChrono Odyssey is PvE first: PvP can be switched off outside PvP zones and events, the June 2025 closed beta had only one-on-one duels, and open PvP zones and a PvEvP mode called Eden are planned (Kakao Games and Yun Sang-tae, June 2025).
-
WeaponsIn Chrono Odyssey each class has three class-locked weapons and carries two, swapping between them in combat for passive buffs, with skill cooldowns kept per weapon; six classes make 18 weapons, nine of them played in the June 2025 closed beta.

PC System RequirementsChrono Odyssey's minimum PC on Steam is 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel Core i5-3570K or AMD FX-8310, 16 GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti or Radeon RX 6600, DirectX 11 and 50 GB of space; the recommended PC has a Core i7-12700K or Ryzen 5 5600X, 32 GB of RAM and an RTX 3070 or RX 6800 XT. These are the June 2025 closed beta's figures, and Chrono Studio is re-setting them with Quasar Zone's benchmarks (Sep 2026).

-
