Dungeons and Raids

Chrono Odyssey splits its instanced content into solo Chrono Gates, Labyrinths and Trials and party Expeditions and Time Portals; for the endgame, executive producer Yun Sang-tae has described 10-player raids and five-player dungeons (Jun 9, 2025). None has a release date, as of Oct 21, 2026.

Chrono Odyssey's content splits into solo challenges (Chrono Gates, Labyrinths and Trials) and party content (Expedition dungeons and Time Portals), with harder dungeons and raids as the endgame. That is Chrono Studio's own division, in its notes of Jul 30, 2025, and the Steam store page adds that "Chrono Odyssey's end content features challenging dungeons and raids. If you're strong enough, you might even be able to clear these formidable dungeons and raids on your own." The official "Gameplay Walkthrough" (Jun 12, 2025) opens on a party fighting through a torch-lit dungeon under a "Dungeons" banner, with party frames and a boss health bar, while the narrator says dungeons ask you to "coordinate with your allies and unravel the intricate mechanics at play", including "puzzle-driven mechanics that must be solved collectively". The game is unreleased and has no release date, as of Oct 21, 2026.

Ahead, four more armed figures walk away from the viewer toward a vast gray wall covered in carved, branching, root-like shapes that spread from its center: one with a saw-toothed greatsword, a woman with a long curved blade on her back, an armored knight and a blond archer with a bow and red trim. A single torch burns on the right wall. No game interface is shown.

Group sizes and raids

Chrono Odyssey is built for small groups, not huge ones. In "Developer Interview #1" (May 23, 2025), the developers say it "is built for smaller scale play": players start solo or in a small group and grow their party, and "even at max level, the game encourages players to stick with a five-man party". Kakao Games put the usual size at "3 to 5 players on average, with larger-scale encounters designed for up to 10 players" (MassivelyOP, Jun 4, 2025).

A raid in Chrono Odyssey means ten players. Asked about endgame PvE by the streamer Kanon (Jun 9, 2025), executive producer Yun Sang-tae answered: "we have prepared 10-player raids and 5-player party dungeons." He explained the size: people imagine raids as "much more massive", but for a new game "matching large numbers of players can be quite challenging", and players "might feel fatigue when matching doesn't go smoothly". Tank, DPS and healer roles exist and "fully function within multiplayer gameplay", he said, though the game favors flexible builds over a strict trio. No raid has been shown, and raid sizes at launch are not confirmed, as of Oct 21, 2026.

The endgame loops for solo players too. Yun told Kanon that players will "experience dungeon content and multiplayer content with continuous growth loops", and that "the looping content isn't limited to multiplayer content": single players get "systems allowing single players to continuously grow and loop content even after reaching the end-game". He also said there are no plans for daily quests, to avoid "an experience that feels like doing chores". How gear fits in is on Gear and Enhancement.

Expedition dungeons

Expedition dungeons are the party dungeons. In Developer Interview #1, Yun calls them the example of party content, "designed for three-player parties", where "each player takes on a unique role", and contrasts them with "large-scale raids found in traditional MMORPGs": a "more focused co-op experience that delivers tactical gameplay even with a small group". Inven reported that weapon swaps let even three tanks or three healers clear a party dungeon (Jun 2025).

In the June 2025 closed beta, the party dungeon Icy Veins covers is the Howling Pit, whose bosses it lists as Cornelius and the demigod Bleth, the "Deathless Cult Leader" (Feb 10, 2026). Those names come from the beta build as Icy Veins lists them; Chrono Studio has not named its dungeons.

After the beta, Chrono Studio wrote that dungeons leaned "too heavily on combat" and lacked replay value, and set out changes on Jul 30, 2025:

  • Expedition dungeons get "randomized gimmicks to make each run feel unique".
  • "Depending on the path you take, you'll encounter different bosses, treasure chests, and other events."
  • Clearing the same dungeon several times gives additional rewards.
  • Party content gets "varied mission objectives that emphasize strategic, role-based gameplay".
  • Core content shows its "recommended party size, level range, and gear score".

Region Bosses and Field Bosses

The biggest group fights are in the open world, not in instances. The Walkthrough's narrator says each region is guarded by "an ancient warden that has existed since the land's creation", fought in "this epic, large-scale raid", and "each region has its own unique Region Boss"; the footage shows a party under a "Region Boss" banner fighting a winged beast in a misty meadow beside a farmhouse. In Developer Interview #1 Yun says Region Bosses need multiple parties working together. Field Bosses are the other open-world group fight. Both are covered on Bosses.

Labyrinths

Labyrinths are solo puzzle rifts, more adventure than fight. The Walkthrough calls them "warped, unstable realms of fractured spacetime" where "you must solve complex, interconnected puzzles", and combat "emerges naturally"; the footage shows a lone fighter crossing fire jets, glowing floor tiles and rune-lit chambers under a "Labyrinth" banner. Kakao Games said they are "designed more in the style of adventure rather than combat", and Developer Interview #1 promises "a special treasure" at the end of each. After the beta, Chrono Studio promised more revival points so players can "restart from the middle instead of going back to the entrance", and platform buttons in place of levers (Jul 30, 2025).

Trials

Trials are solo runs with changing rules. The Walkthrough says that "similar to roguelikes, trials feature shifting conditions that demand creativity and adaptation", and that "the choice is yours to take a risk for greater reward or play it safe"; the footage shows a carved door, a hall of treasure chests, a shop screen and a fight with a boss under a "Trial" banner. Developer Interview #1 describes travel "across time and space, facing puzzles, traps, and randomized mechanics". Chrono Studio plans "a new card system" of buffs and debuffs that adds "a strategic, rogue-lite element to each run" (Jul 30, 2025).

Time Portals

Time Portals are party trips into another time. The Walkthrough calls them "anomalies formed by distortions in the flow of time" where Setera appears "reimagined in entirely different timelines, whether from the past or future", and "within these portals lie valuable items to further your progression". Chrono Studio lists them as party content and as a good source of Gold, and plans "varied combat setups and new gimmicks" for each run (Jul 30, 2025). The world's eras are on Setera.

Bounty Hunting

Bounty Hunting sends you after named outlaws in the open world. The Walkthrough says "with each target, you'll learn more about their backstory", and that as your bounty level rises, "tougher enemies and greater rewards await". It was the most popular content in the private test of February 2025, and one of the most hunted bounties was the Ravenous Bog (Developer's Notes #1, Apr 4, 2025).

Eden

The official Walkthrough also showed Eden, a mode where you "descend into an abyss of endless dungeons" alone or with allies, against other players as well as monsters. Yun calls it PvEvP content tied to character progression; it is covered on PvP.
